Academic Requirements

  • Attended a California high school (public or private) for three or more years, or;
  •  Attained credits equivalent to three or more years of full-time high school coursework from a California high school, and attended a combination of elementary, middle, and/or high schools in California for a total of three or more years.
  • Prior to the start of the term, you must have graduated from a California high school or obtained the equivalent (for example, passing the GED or California High School Proficiency exam) and filed an affidavit with the college or university stating that you have filed an application to legalize your immigration status (or will file an application as soon as he or she is eligible to do so.)

  • Application fee of $100 (please fill out a form, scan it, and upload it to the online application form.)
    Affidavit of Support form signed.
  • A genuine bank letter or letter of recommendation for a scholarship from the benefactor (bank letter or scholarship letter must be less than 6 months old at the time of application.)
  • A copy of your photo ID and expiration page from your passport or other official photo ID.
  • If you are presently residing in the US, a copy of all of your visas, I-94s, I-20s, DS-2019s, and other legal documentation (Transfer or Change of Status applicants.)
  • Official transcripts from all high schools and universities attended, including inside and outside the United States, together with a certified translation into English (if necessary). Transcripts from other countries can be uploaded to the web application. Direct mail delivery to the International Student Center is required for US transcripts.
  • A personal letter from you explaining what you want to study at Mission College and your educational goals.
  • Proof of English Proficiency.
