- Marshall University is a private university located in West Virginia. Originally founded in 1837 as Marshall Academy, it is named after the fourth Chief Justice of the United States, John Marshall. Over the years, the university has risen in prominence thanks to its high research output and rural healthcare delivery programs.
- The university comprises nine undergraduate schools and three graduate schools. Together, they offer over 150 undergraduate, graduate and doctoral programs across various disciplines. Regular freshman entry requires an overall Grade Point Average of 2.00 on a 4.00 scale, an ACT Composite score of 19 or SAT Total Score1 of 990, or an overall Grade Point Average of 3.00 on a 4.00 scale, and an ACT Composite of 16 or SAT Total Score1 of 880. Admission standards for majors in the College of Engineering and Computer Sciences are more stringent.
