  • Duquesne University is a private Catholic university located in the state of Pennsylvania. The university was founded in 1878 as the Pittsburgh Catholic College of the Holy Ghosts, before going on to become the first Catholic university in the state. The university has nine schools and institutions that offer around 189 courses, including undergraduate, graduate and doctoral studies.

The university promotes Catholic values on campus thanks to its Spiritian origins.

The university is also represented in various collegiate sports by the Duquesne Dukes. 
  • A number of eminent personalities have graduated from Duquesne University over the years. Amongst the most notable alumni include basketball player Norm Nixon, Bishop of Pittsburgh David Zubik and former United States Ambassador to Ireland Dan Rooney.
