Ulster University typically accepts applications from individuals who:
- All Indian Standard XII (Central Boards or a State Board) students must have a 60% overall average, with at least 50% in 5 subjects. Where a course includes subject-specific prerequisites, 60% of each of those prerequisites must be met

- A three-year degree in engineering or technology with a 60% overall grade point average from a state board of technical education (Accredited by ACITE)
- Math at GCSE is required
- Indian Standard XII Grade B: 60%

Graduate Programmes
Typically, universities require applicants for taught programmes to have the equivalent of a first-year degree from the United Kingdom (usually in a relevant subject area).
