Eligibility

All applicants must demonstrate proficiency in English. The following qualifications are accepted/permitted: 

1 Irish Leaving Certificate: an ordinary level English mark of 6 or better. 

2 GCSE: English Language with a C or above. 

3 US High School: English grade of C in senior year.

  • 6.5 on the IELTS (academic version) (no individual band below 6)
  • IELTS (academic version) 7 (no individual band below 7) for dental courses
  • IELTS (academic version) 7 for Clinical Speech and Language Studies (no individual band below 7) A minimum score of 63
  • on the Pearson Test of English (Academic) - PTE Academic (with no Communication Skills section score below 59) is required
  • English A1, A2, or B: 5 at Higher Level in the International Baccalaureate (4 at Standard Level if presenting IB through English)

Admission Process

To see if students meet the general undergraduate criteria, go to the entry requirements section for your specific nation. Additional course-specific prerequisites may apply, which students may find on the course page. 
After you've decided on a course, go to the course particular page and click the 'Non-EU Application' link.

Students have the option of applying for various courses. A separate €55 application fee is required for each course application. Your first choice will be the course for which you apply. Students can simply change their choice order by emailing academic.registry@tcd.ie.

Each year, applications are taken beginning in October for entry in September of the following year. Non-EU undergraduate applications must be received by June 30th.

On November 1st, the application portal opens.
The application deadline is June 30th.
The Priority Deadline* for receiving a decision by April 1st is February 1st. Students should accept the offer by May 1st.
After May 1st, admission is on a rolling basis until June 30th.
The deadline for music, drama, dentistry and medical applications is February 1st.
The Advanced Entry application deadline is June 1st.
