Technological University Dublin is Ireland's first technological university, formed by amalgamating three existing institutes of technology in the Dublin area, namely Dublin Institute of Technology, the Institute of Technology, Blanchardstown, and the Institute of Technology, Tallaght. The university has five main campuses in Grangegorman, Aungier Street, Bolton Street, Blanchardstown, and Tallaght in the greater Dublin area. The five campuses house over 70 student-run societies and 40 student clubs, including Gaelic Athletic Association, football, Handball, powerlifting, archery, rowing, skiing, basketball, kite surfing, and cricket.
With over 28,500 students and 3,000 staff, the university has five colleges, associated schools, and several research institutes and centers emphasizing computer science and STEM subjects. Popular courses include Product Design, Mechanical Engineering, Architecture, Engineering, Science, Marketing, Hospitality, Music, Optometry, Pharmaceuticals, Construction, Digital Media, and Journalism.
