Eligibility Criteria –
- Applications must only be submitted by foreign students holding an appropriate academic qualification required to enroll to the Italian University/Institute.
- Age requirements –
- Applicants for Master’s Degree/Higher Education in Arts, Music, and Dance (AFAM) Programmes/ Italian Language and Culture advanced Courses should have attained the age of majority and shall not exceed the age of 28 years by the deadline of this call (born after June 14th 1995), with the sole exception of renewals.
- Applicants for PhD Programmes should have attained the age of majority and shall not exceed the age of 30 years by the deadline of this call (born after June 14th 1993), with the sole exception of renewals.
- Applicants for Research Projects under academic supervision should have attained the age of majority and shall not exceed the age of 40 years by the deadline of this call (born after June 14th 1983).
- Applicants must be able to prove his/her English language proficiency.
- Applicants must be in possession of a valid passport or identity document.
Benefits
- Some Universities exempt Grantees from the payment of enrollment and tuition fees depending on the policy of each University in line with the regulations on the autonomy of academic institutions.
- Students will receive a total of EUR 9000 or INR 8.1 Lakhs as a stipend; the stipend will be provided in three instalments. The first instalment will be EUR 4500, the second instalment will be EUR 2500, and the last instalment will be EUR 2000.
- The scholarship will also cover health insurance for the duration of their stay in Italy.
- Students will receive an Italian language course.
- Grants are awarded for a period of study of 6 (six) or 9 (nine) months.

- The application process for the MAECI scholarship 2024 and university admission are separate.
- Applicants don’t need to take university admission first. Once they are selected for the MAECI scholarship, they will need to secure admission to their chosen program at any Italian public university.
