Valencia College is a premier institution based within the state's college system and caters to the Orange and Osceola counties in Central Florida. Valencia College West Campus is situated on a 180 acre site in West Orange County. Over 60 study programs are offered at Valencia College West Campus through its two-year Associate in Science (A.S.) and Associate in Arts (A.A.) degrees.
Besides these, students can also opt for Continuing Education Programs. The Associate in Arts (A.A.) degree is curated for students planning to get transferred to a Florida public university as a junior for completing their Bachelor’s degree. It demands 60 eligible college-level credit hours that include 24 credit hours of electives and 36 credits of general education. For the Associate in Science degrees, students can choose from more than 30 degree programs.
Valencia College extends financial aid assistance via several options – loans, grants, work study programs, and scholarships. The various kinds of grants, namely Pell Grant, Florida Student Assistance Grant (FSAG) and Supplemental Educational Opportunity Grant (SEOG) come with their own eligibility criteria. Subsidized Stafford Loan, Parent PLUS Loan and Unsubsidized Stafford Loan are the different kinds of loans available for eligible students.
Among the scholarships, eligible students can avail the Valencia Honors Scholarship, Valencia Advantage Scholarship, Valencia Foundation Scholarships and some others. As of 2012, Valencia College featured in t Washington Monthly's list of the top 50 community colleges nationally.
