A public research institution affiliated with Florida's State University System, the University of Central Florida was established in 1963. Established to further the cause of the U.S Space Program, the university has an acceptance rate of 44% and an enrollment of 71,948 students, the largest student body in the country.
Conferring over 17,000 degrees annually, it comprises 13 colleges offering over 230-degree programs; 103 bachelor's, 91 master's, 34 doctoral, and three specialist degree programs. Computer science, finance, biology, psychology, and hospitality management are a few of the well-liked majors.
The University of Central Florida(UCF) is spread across ten regional campuses; the 1,415-acre one in east Orlando is the flagship campus. The other campuses/centers are Lake Nonagons Medical City, Downtown, south Orlando, Ocala, Palm Bay, South Lake, etc.
All the campuses offer housing options, though first-year students are mostly granted residence on the main campus. There are fully equipped shared suites and luxury apartments with bathroom and dining facilities. One of the 650 student groups and organizations, intercollegiate sports and other activities are available to students (baseball, tennis, track, etc.), attend art shows, concerts, and more. According to placement records, UCF students have acquired annual income packages of USD 46,419.
The estimated annual cost of attending UCF for Florida residents is USD 17,879, while that for non-residents is USD 33,978. University of Central Florida financial aid comes from over 200 scholarships through the A2O system (Pegasus Scholarships, Florida Bright Futures, Private Scholarships, etc.), grants, loans, waivers, and Federal Work-Study.
