Established in 1927, Texas Southern University is a public university located in Houston, Texas, USA. This university was developed with the intention to provide African-American students with a college education. In 1931, the Southern Association of colleges approved Texas University.
The Texas Southern University is accredited by the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Commission on Colleges (SACSCOC) and has around 11 schools and colleges. Texas Southern University has around 1400 faculty members and enrolls more than 7500 students in various fields, including business, education, engineering, behavioral science, health science, law, psychology, public affairs, science, arts, pharmacy, communication, computer science, and languages.
The university is known for offering over 100 undergraduate, graduate, and professional courses online and offline. The university also consists of a career center that provides career development services to its students to help them achieve their goals. The university campus is spread over 150 acres, consisting of 45 buildings, including professional schools, a radio station, a performance center, a health complex, and so on.
In addition, over 80 student organizations are situated on the campus. B.Sc. in Computer Science, BS in Biology, MS in Computer Science, and BS in Civil Engineering Technology are some of the top courses that are offered by the university. In addition, special research programs like Religious and Socinian Studies, Center for Philosophy are also offered by Texas Southern University.
The university offers on-campus accommodation in its four major residential houses, which includes the University Courtyard, University Towers, Tier wester Oaks, and University academic village.
