Earlier known as the Minns Evening Normal School, San Jose State University was founded in 1857 and is located in San Francisco. It is one of the oldest universities situated on the West Coast. It is ranked 7th in the Top Public Schools (US News) list, and almost 12% of the students are international students from all over the world.
The university offers about 88 undergraduate and 70 graduate programs through its eight colleges. Along with that, it also offers certification and doctorate professional-level programs. Some of the popular courses at the San Jose State University include- Business, Management, Marketing, and Related Support Services, Engineering, Visual and Performing Arts, Communication, Journalism, and Related Programs and Psychology.
The university also has unique research centres that study the lives and works of Nobel Prize-winning author John Steinbeck and amazing composer Beethoven. Along with academic facilities, the campus also provides more than 450 organizations and a Greek System. The organizations are based on categories like- academics, club sports, cultural/religious, fraternity/sorority, and special interests.
The total fees vary depending upon the course one opts for, but fees for undergraduate students are 30,065 USD ( campus housing) and 29,382 (off-campus), including transportation, books and supplies, and other miscellaneous expenses.
The university provides around 425 million USD as loans, grants, awards, and scholarships for international students studying in the USA based on merit. Need-based scholarships are not for international students and are a part of financial aid.
