  • Established in 1890 by Norwegian immigrants, Pacific Lutheran University is a private Christian university situated in the Parkland neighbourhood of Tacoma in Washington. It is sponsored by the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America. PLU provides 54 minors and 44 majors, along with professional and graduate programs in creative writing, finance, marketing analytics, marriage, education, nursing, business administration, and family therapy.

Individuals who are high school graduates or the equivalent (GED) or who are 18 years of age or older and able to profit from community college studies are eligible for admission to PVCC. 

The Governing Principles for Dual Enrollment Between Virginia's Public Schools and the Virginia Community College System govern how dual enrollment students are admitted. 

Other applicants who do not fulfil these admissions requirements may apply to the College for special consideration.

PVCC accepts students as either curricular or noncurricular students. 

A full formal application for admission (with the appropriate Social Security Number) is required for all students. 

Students pursuing a degree (curricular students) must also submit transcripts from all previous institutions and universities.

 High school transcripts may be required for admission to nursing, emergency medical technology, surgical technology, radiography, and diagnostic medical sonography programmes.
