Midwestern State University is a public university located in the state of Texas, United States. The university was founded in 1922 as the Wichita Falls Junior College. It has since developed into a full fledged university, making it the only public university in Texas dedicated to liberal arts. The university comprises seven colleges that provide programs in undergraduate and graduate studies in various disciplines of education.

The university main campus is located in Wichita Falls, Texas. It is spread over 255 acres of land, with all the buildings in campus having a similar architecture with red bricked walls, arched entrances and tiled roofs.
The Moffett Library provides students with the academic literature and books required to meet curriculum requirements of various fields. The university is also home to the Dalquest Desert Research Station that promotes research in various nature sciences like geology and biology. It was donated to the university by former professor Dr. Dalton Dalquest to promote scientific research by educators and scientists.
