Mercer University is one of the oldest institutions of higher education in the United States of America. The main campus of the university is located in Macon, Georgia. Every year, it enrolls around 8759 students in its campus area of 150 acres. The student population comprises about 13% of international students from around 56 countries around the globe.
In the beginning, it was known as Mercer Institute when it was founded by several Georgia Baptists in 1833. Later, it gained university status in 1837. Other campuses of Mercer University are located in Columbus, Atlanta, and Savannah.
The campus has several recreational areas such as a swimming pool, meeting halls, basketball area, etc. Pharmacy, Human Services, Pharmacy, Theology, Nursing, Engineering, Music, Medicine, Liberal Arts, Health, Journalism, are popular subjects offered in the university.
