A public university in Beaumont, Texas, Lamar University is part of the Texas State University System which remains the first higher education system of the state.
Established in the year 1923, it works with a belief in tradition to reinvent the future. Working to develop the custom of hands-on learning for its student in order to produce responsible citizens for the world, the university maintains the lowest annual average tuition fee in Texas.
All the nationally recognized and quality programs at Lamar University are organized into five undergraduate colleges, one graduate college and an honors college. These five colleges are College of Arts and Sciences, College of Business, College of Education and Human Development, Engineering, Fine Art and Communication, Reaud Honors College, and College of Graduate Studies.
The university has diverse students coming from different parts of the world as it hosts over 100 student organisations while promoting the significance of cultural events and activities to maintain an inclusive environment among the students. There are 139 programmes for undergraduate, graduate and doctorate degrees.
The university with an acceptance rate of 84% has some of its best courses in business and engineering programs. Situated 90 miles east of Houston, the university campus hosts thousands of seminars, and cultural and sports events making it a popular choice amongst students.
