Admission Process

  • Undergraduate applications are exclusively available online. By the deadline listed above, applications must be submitted in the Office of Admissions. There is a $35 nonrefundable application fee.
  • All secondary and post-secondary records, as well as examination results, must be submitted in an official or certified copy. A foreign credential evaluation agency must evaluate all credentials from non-US colleges. A member of the National Association of Credential Evaluation Services is recommended. All academic records must be issued in the native language, with a certified English translation included. You must provide a course-by-course evaluation report with a U.S. equivalent grade point average if your high school does not use a US grading scale (A, B, C, D, F or 0 - 100). A course-by-course appraisal is required in college/university documentation.
  • If you are a freshman or sophomore transfer student, you must submit official ACT [code: 0726] and/or Redesigned SAT [code: 5215] scores.
  • Prior to granting the Certificate of Eligibility, Florida A&M University is required by federal regulations to verify each applicant's financial resources (Form I-20 or DS-2019). Complete the Financial Statement for International Students. You will offer evidence of your financial support (bank statements, award letters, scholarships, etc.). FAMU demands confirmation of financial support for the first year of study as well as the ability to fund your academic programme for the duration.
  • If you obtained college credit through one of these accelerated procedures, submit all AICE, AP, IB, or CLEP scores.
  • If your native language is not English, you must submit official TOEFL and/or IELTS test scores.
  • If applicable, an official GED transcript
  • Part of the application is a 500-word essay.
  • Two recommendation letters portion of the application; instructor and/or counsellor
