Housing options & resources

Residence Halls

Smith, Sunderland, and Wallace are the three residence halls where the bulk of freshmen and sophomores dwell. A professional live-in Hall Director or Graduate Assistant, as well as a number of Resident Assistants, staff the halls (RAs).

  • Smith Hall

Smith Hall, which opened in 1966, seats 152 students in a classic suite-style configuration, with two students per room and four students per suite sharing a bathroom. The sole facility with a shared kitchen is Smith Hall.

  • Sunderland Hall

Sunderland Hall, which first opened its doors in 2005, has 132 inhabitants living in suites with two baths and four private bedrooms with closets. A microwave and a small refrigerator are included in each unit.

  • Wallace Hall

Wallace Hall, which was restored in the summer of 2010, has roughly 130 students in a classic suite-style arrangement: two students per room, four students per suite, and each suite have its own bathroom.

Apartment-Style Housing

In Springfield's historic Midtown district, Drury's apartment-style accommodation offers the ultimate in privacy with community life. Apartments and houses provide students with a self-contained living environment that includes many of the same amenities, conveniences, and security as do residence halls. The academic buildings are within walking distance of all flats. Like the residence halls, every campus accommodation has miniblinds, access to laundry facilities, internet, and utilities.

Returning students choose their own roommates, and residences are assigned to groups depending on the total number of credits earned unless a unique application process is mentioned. Gender-inclusive or same-gender roommate groups are possible. Students with a limited number of credit hours are more likely to live in resident halls.

Note: Full-time undergraduate students who graduated from high school at least one full year previous to the planned move-in date are eligible for apartment-style living.

  • College Park

College Park is a full-time day school that was built in the late 1990s. There are some ADA-accessible units in College Park. There are completely furnished 4-bedroom flats, 3-bedroom cottages, and 1-person studios available at the property.

  • Honors House

The Honors House is meant to provide students admitted into Drury's Honors Program with opportunities to engage in co-curricular events that enrich the honours experience, such as discovery, exploration, creativity, and leadership. Residents of the Honors House will create social and cultural programming for the Honors Student Association, organise a year-long service-learning project for the Honors Program, and improve their social media skills by publicising the Honors Program's events. Most importantly, living in the honours house will allow students to continue their intellectual exploration.

  • Jefferson Park North & South

The 2-bedroom, 2-bath homes in Jefferson Park North and South have a master bedroom with en-suite bathroom and a smaller second bedroom with a bathroom off the corridor. There are only a few 1-bedroom and 3-bedroom flats available.

To allow students to bring their own furniture, the first level of Jefferson Park North is unfurnished. Pets are welcome in these flats. The Pet Agreement and essay must be on file with the Housing office before a student can choose a pet-friendly unit.

In Jefferson Park, a student may live with family members. A student living with a non-student family member would pay full price for the accommodation and meal plan, plus a "family charge." If both adults in a household attend Drury, they will be allocated to a 2-bedroom unit and will be responsible for their own housing and meal plan (but no family fee).

  • Jefferson Park West

Full-time day school students at Jefferson Park West can live in UNFURNISHED housing. There are four one-bedroom units and four studio apartments.

Manley Hall has 1-bed, 1-bathroom units as well as 2-bed, 1-bathroom units.

  • Midtown Properties

For the full-time day school students, the institution maintains numerous historic 2, 3, and 4-bedroom residences near to the campus. Some houses have only one bathroom, while others have two. Several Midtown residences are reserved for student groups and may require a separate application.

  • Patterson House

Patterson House has studios, one-bedroom, two-bedroom, and three-bedroom units. In the summer of 2018, the structure was renovated.

Fraternity Houses

Drury's Greek chapters have a long history, a distinct past, and distinct principles. The different members in each chapter, the leadership opportunities offered, and the pleasant social events that chapters sponsor are just a few of the aspects that make fraternity life so fantastic. Janesh

I came to Drury University with a degree in marketing and knew that I would be able to get a job easily. Though I struggled with the course work and it was difficult, I knew that my hard work would pay off. The campus is very inclusive and friendly; you always feel like you're part of something big. The professors are helpful, placement is great.

I went to Drury University for my Masters of Education. They have a really inclusive nature here, friendly campus, on-campus housing, off-campus housing, really good faculty members here and so many other perks. I do feel like the food is average though and placement rates could have been better.

Drury is a great college town. You can always find a spot in the quad with friends or colleagues to hang out. There are many internships and opportunities to grow while living at Drury. Drury has a good ranking, positive reputation and very good record in academics and placements. Tuition doesn't break the bank too.
