Chicago State University (CSU), Illinois, USA, is a public university founded in 1867. CSU is a member of the Thurgood Marshall College Fund and is accredited by the Higher Learning Commission. The university offers 56 degree programs under various disciplines - Business, Education, Health Science, Pharmacy, Arts, Sciences, Design, Psychology, Computer Science, Mathematics, Social Work, Languages, Engineering, Communication and Philosophy.
In addition, CSU offers graduate programs in various courses - Master's in Teaching, Fine Arts, Occupational Therapy, Public Health, Science in Education, and Doctoral Degrees in Education (Ed.D) and Pharmacy. The university has sessions in Spring, Summer and Fall, and accordingly, the tuition fee and other program-related expenses vary.
In addition, CSU has one campus providing academics and on-campus accommodation. The campus has a three-story coeducational, residential hall where approximately 330 students can be accommodated. The average hostel and meals expenses would be 6,028 USD yearly for the students. The approximate cost for a hostel would be 3,000 USD per semester ( all single rooms), and the meals would cost from 1,256 - 2,453 USD (10 to 19 meals).
The accommodations are allotted for an 8 month academic period. The university's other amenities include a gym, a fitness center, 3 swimming pools, a dance studio, an auxiliary gymnasium, and many others. Another building also houses the university's athletic department, among others. In addition, the Chicago State University, in partnership with Chicago State Foundation, hosts a scholarship gala once a year.
