  • The University of South Wales is a public university that was established in 2013 after the merger of the University of Wales and the University of Glamorgan, Newport. It houses three campuses in Newport, Cardiff, Pontypridd. It holds an affiliation with University Alliance and Universities UK. The Treforest campus, Pontypridd, offers courses in Accounting and Finance, Art, Business and Management, Chiropractic, English, Criminology, etc. Other courses include – Law, Maths, Public Services, History, Computing, Engineering, Sociology, and Psychology.

Foundation Entry Requirements

 

  • Students who do not meet the academic prerequisites for immediate entry into year one of a Bachelor's degree can enroll in Foundation Years.

 

Undergraduate Entry Requirements

 

  • Depending on whatever Board you studied, an overall average of 60-65 percent or above in the 12th Standard is required.
  • Students with a relevant UK HND or India Diploma may be eligible for advanced entry into certain undergraduate degree programmes.

 

Postgraduate Entry Requirements

  • For admittance to a relevant postgraduate programme, an overall average of 60 percent (or CGPA of 6.0/10) of a three-year degree (B.COM, BBA, B.SC, BCA, etc.) from a recognised Indian university is required.
  • For admittance to a relevant postgraduate programme, an overall average of 55 percent (or CGPA of 5.8/10) from a recognised Indian university (B.E, BTECH, B PHARM, B. ARCH, etc.).
  • University of Mumbai, University of Delhi, University of Pune, Jadavpur University, or University of Calcutta must have a minimum of 50% (or CGPA 5.5/10) from one of the following Indian universities: University of Mumbai, University of Delhi, University of Pune, Jadavpur University, or University of Calcutta.

 

English Qualifications


The ability to communicate in English is required for university education. The following English language qualifications are accepted by the University of South Wales:

 

  • English at 65-70 percent or higher in HSC (12th standard), depending on which Board you studied.
  • IELTS 6.0 overall, with at least 5.5 in each band, or equivalent (certain programmes demand a higher IELTS – please see the relevant course page on the website for more information).
  • The USW English test (sometimes referred to as the Password test) is a free English test that may be taken in India. 
  • Alternative English tests are also accepted.
