For those who do not meet the exact entry requirements, SOAS offers English summer courses ('pre-sessionals') to give students the opportunity to strengthen their language skills before beginning academic studies.

SOAS has a variety of lodging options, ranging from 2 minutes to 45 minutes away from the SOAS campus, all of which are near to amenities and transportation. We have halls of residence with 24-hour security and rooms in shared flats or houses in our inventory. There are many different types of rooms to meet different budgets and needs: twin, single, double, studios, and flats, as well as adapted, couple, and family lodging. We have ensuite and non-ensuite rooms, as well as self-catered and catered options. Students have the option of living with host families.
