The University of Plymouth began as a polytechnic institute in 1862 and is now a public university. In 1992, the institute was granted university status, and it was also the first modern university to open a private medical and dental school. Universities UK, ACU, EUA, CHUC, and Universities UK are all affiliated with it. GSM London, Highlands College, Weymouth College, Strode College, City of Bristol College, and Exeter College are just a some of the prestigious institutions with which the university has academic partnerships.

The university's main campus is located in the heart of Plymouth. Academic buildings, libraries, laboratories, and student living halls are all included. The Faculty of Arts, Humanities and Business, the Faculty of Science and Engineering, and the Faculty of Health, as well as the University of Plymouth Students' Union, are all located on the main campus. The School of Medicine, School of Dentistry, and School of Biomedical and Healthcare Sciences are all located on the North Plymouth campus. A public art gallery, digital media facilities, and three performance rehearsal studios are housed in the 9-story Roland Levinsky Building.

More than 350,000 volumes, e-books, journals, and other resources for study, learning, and teaching are housed in the Charles Seale-Hayne Library, which is open 24 hours a day, seven days a week. Cars and two-wheelers are the principal modes of transportation on campus. In addition, the campus is only a few minutes' walk from the nearest railway station.

Admission Process

Admissions to the University of Plymouth


Students interested in pursuing a full-time undergraduate degree must submit an application to the Universities and Colleges Admissions Service (UCAS).


Official academic transcripts, official programme completion certificate, Mark Sheets, and English language scores are all required.


Additional requirements include a birth certificate, a copy of one's passport, proof of insurance, and a valid student visa.
