Founded in 1971, MacEwan University was initially known as Grant MacEwan Community College and a higher education institution. In 1988, this college achieved authorization to extend university programs. Later, in 2009, this college became Alberta's 6th university and was renamed MacEwan University for all public communication and marketing purposes.
The campus of this university offers multiple facilities and conducts programs such as a clinical simulation center, professional nursing education, and social innovation institute. This university holds the 4th position as the most sustainable university in Canada.
More than 900 students from across 70 countries are admitted annually to this university. Furthermore, nearly 12,300 students are enrolled in different credit programs at the university. This institution provides small-class sizes, interactive sessions with the faculties, and technological and library resources.
