Holland College was established in 1969 as a provincial community college in Canada’s smallest province Prince Edward Island. It has 8 campuses spread across the island, each campus specializing in a particular field. One of its newest campuses is the Summerside Waterfront campus, which was opened in 2012.
The campus is 60 km away from the College’s main campus, the Prince of Wales campus in Charlottetown. Summerside is the second-largest city in the province and is famous for its rich cultural heritage. The campus is situated on the banks of Summerside Harbour, allowing students to indulge in water sports and visit the Wyatt Historic House Museum and Eptek Art and Culture Centre. It is also among the safest cities to live in Canada.
Holland College - Summerside Waterfront offers courses in the field of Business, Computer Studies, Health Studies and is the centre for Industrial Technology and Trade. Due to its location by the waterfront, this campus is also the Marine Training Centre. Holland College is renowned for having one of the highest graduation rates of 92% in 2020.
It offers the students a chance to apply their theoretical knowledge in relevant industries during internships. International students can also work on campus for 20 hours a week. Holland College has a fund of CAD 500,000, which it uses to give scholarships to international and domestic students. It also has 90+ pathway degree courses, allowing students to further study in distinguished universities in Canada and the USA.
