--- ---, January, 2023 My academic and professional trajectory has been stellar. I completed my 10 th grade with a 9.6 CGPA and secured 75% in 12 th grade. Due to my deep interest in biological science, I opted to pursue a B.Sc. (Hons) degree in Agricultural Science and then went on to do M.Sc. Agriculture with plant pathology as a major field of study. During my Master’s degree program, I investigated the Localization of Bhendi Yellow Vein Mosaic Virus (BYVMV) from the different parts of Okra (Abelmoschus esculentus (L.) Moench) plant, flower, and seed. The virus belongs to the Genus Begomovirus. There were no reports that it could be present in the seed. But in 2010, Navsari Agricultural University and subsequent propounded the seed-to-seed movement theory and suggested that it plays an essential role in the season-to-season as well in the long-distance movement of the virus. I studied Okra as it is one of the most important vegetables and YVMD is the most intriguing disease causing enormous losses. The study indicated that the virus is present in the seed and can serve as a source for crop-to-crop and long-distance movement through the seed. I believe it calls for scientists, policymakers, seed producers, and farmers to look into it and take necessary action. For my second project, I completed a 2-month training Rural Agricultural Work Experience (RAWE). During this time, I got deep insights into the problems faced by the farmers and linked them with research-based information to improve agricultural production, productivity, processing, and marketing of agricultural goods & services. The stimulating curriculum introduced me to fascinating subjects like Molecular Biology, Genetics, Bioreactor Engineering, & Biochemistry. All these subjects deepened my passion for the subject and motivated me to study for Masters in Biotechnology. Hence, I worked under a professor in my university who is working on PCOS. Thousands of women suffer from it with no actual cure to it and the root cause is yet not known. I worked on a single nucleotide polymorphism (SNP) to determine the deleteriousness of the SNP and its contribution in causing PCOS. We came to find a novel SNP id which has never been researched and found out that it is responsible for causing PCOS in women. This gave me a kind of reliance and made me feel that I could have expertise in the subjects and try to create a difference in the world I wanted to make. Although academically inclined, I never restricted myself to my college curriculum. Determining to gain industrial experience and broaden my horizons, I took online courses to study the subject in detail. I took my minor project as well in human genetics which focused on the YAP-1 gene causing PCOS. My main area of interest is autoimmune disorder and hence I took up online courses to study human molecular genetics in depth. Beyond my academic and professional precincts, I also participated in various extracurricular activities to stay fresh and rejuvenated. I play badminton regularly and have bagged awards in tournaments. I also hold a gold and silver medal in Taekwondo zonal and state level respectively. Moreover, I have played volleyball and represented my team in the intraschool volleyball championship where our team was in the top 3. I was the assistant head girl in my school where I worked with the student council and organized various events throughout the year. In college, I participated actively in multiple festivals and cultural events and won prizes for organizing them successfully. I was a part of NSS where we went to various rural areas for campaigns to make them aware about proper garbage disposal, importance of handwashing and safe eating practices. However, now that I have graduated from college, I realize that what I know is just a speck of the Universe. My motivation for further studies lies in providing easy access to affordable healthcare technology for everyone. Overall, GSC was a once in the lifetime of experience filled with realizations, knowledge and understanding. Lastly, during the tough COVID times, our university established a traditional competition online to celebrate the national science day called GUNI SciTech Fest, which is held to commemorate the discovery of the 'Raman Effect,' which led to Sir C.V. --- winning the Noble Prize, but due to COVID, they had it online. The Theme for 2020 was “Future of science technology and innovation: Impacts on Education, Skills and work,” where I presented a digital poster with great confidence and won the 1st rank. I never had the best of childhood or family since I grew up with my grandma and my uncle as my mother had a brutal divorce while she was pregnant with me and had to do a job outside of town to pay for my school before marrying my stepfather when I reached the age of 14. My family's financial situation was never great, but by the grace of God, we got help when needed; my school was generous enough to pay for my tuition fee in my primary standards. It was not a normal childhood, but it made me understanding and hard working. I have usually worked on an online imitation jewellery business where I learned about E-commerce and how to establish a small business online. Besides that, I managed a local town café and restaurant named Al Forno for six months as the owner was a distant relative, where I learned about the food business and management and communication skills. The latest is where I joined an internship at ZYDUS Biotech park Ahmedabad, where I got to observe industrial methods for --- Master’s in Biotechnology pharmaceuticals, it was an informative visit, and I experienced the work of the industry and their methods and use of equipment. The duration of my course was 4 years and the medium of instruction of my degree was in English. Prior to the graduation, I have completed my 10 th and 12 th from the Indian Council for Secondary Education(ICSE) in the year 2015 and 2017 with the score of 94% and 69.6% respectively. I have been an active student both in my school as well as in my college. I have been selected as the Vice-Chairperson of Women in Engineering, IEEE, a global professional body for the engineers, in my college. Second, I was part of Celebrity 150 years of DNA Discovery which was organized by the telangana Social Welfare Residential Education Instution Society (TSWREIS) in association with Daretostart. Org, Germany and FABA Academy. India where I extracted DNA from Hibiscus rosa – sinesis L. then I completed Diploma in online programmes in molecular biology and genetics, cell biology , from European Open University. This inspired me to pursue my next step in Biotechnology. I also pursued a Healthy Habits Programme at Career Development Collage at London. Then I participated in district level quiz competition on HIV, and voluntary blood donation and cutting edge tools in Bio Technology and also super hero certificate awarded for pledging: to only use antibiotics when prescribed by a doctor and now I am WHO hero Who joins to fight against antibiotic resistance. And successfully participated in IP Awareness / Training programme under National Intellectual Property Awareness Mission. With the rich insights I gained, I believed that I needed to pursue a full-time program to bridge gaps in knowledge. Therefore, I pursued an Undergraduate in Biotechnology to gain deeper perspectives Cell biology, Genetics , Molecular Biology, Bioinformatics, Data sciences, emerging technologies, and computational techniques. I also learned R and Python to apply various supervised and unsupervised learning methods to create regression, classification, and clustering models.For my Final Project, I wrote a review on stem cells. During this time I also took a plethora of online courses like the --- --- Genomic Technology program on Coursera amongst many others, where I learned methods, data structures, and algorithms to analyse DNA sequence data, use Galaxy for sequence data quality control, and create workflows for RNA and Chip-Sequence analysis experiments. To achieve all aspirations in making myself potent of working in laboratory settings and obtaining essential research skills, I believe I should pursue a Master's degree in Biotechnology at the University of Essex. The networking ability at your University shall amplify my international exposure and knowledge-sharing scope while also exposing me to exploratory and experimental learning. Post masters, I aspire to work for companies such as GSK, Novartis or other premier research institutes like EMBL or Broad Institute. A few years down the line, I want to pursue a Ph.D. in Biotechnology, which would help me live my dream of working as an independent researcher. All in all, I want to be able to give back to the society I am part of, either with voluntary teaching, on-field contribution, or breakthrough innovation.

Having pursued a career in Microbiology, my desire grew deeper and deeper overtime to acquire a fascinating vocation in the related field seems indecipherable at best. I have always been galvanized by the exceptional discoveries made by many pioneer scientists. The most important discoveries that have underpinned modern society from their research made me eclectic Microbiology as my Bachelors. Furthermore, the emergence of the pandemic has also created a great concern to choose this particular field. This motivated me to educate more about the infectious organisms causing these pandemics. I am ---, hereby applying to the most reputed University to seek my Masters in Molecular Biology. I studied my 10th grade from Balalok Matriculation Higher Secondary School in Chennai. I have always been a studious and dedicated student when it comes to my academic career. I passed out with an outstanding score of 95%. Being ardent in science stream, I secured 85% in the 12th grade having an excellent command over the major subjects like Biology, Physics, Chemistry and Math. I sure that the good command I had over these subjects were due to my critical thinking and problem-solving skill. I began my Bachelors in Microbiology at JBAS college for Women. Starting my first year of study in 2020, I was extremely ecstatic and deeply motivated to enhance my knowledge in this field. I am currently in the final semester of study with an overall CGPA of 8.2. During the course of study, I was exposed to a variety of Majors and Core electives like Cell and Molecular Biology, Biochemistry, Microbial Genetics, and Biotechnology that inspired me to opt for the one that I would wish to do my Masters specialization in. I found myself being in most fascinating study when I was revealed to the medical subjects like Bacteriology, Virology, Mycology and Parasitology. Though it was challenging, with my constant motivation and the keen interest I had developed over these majors, I easily tackled over them with good scores. The one most exemplary involvement I had was, when I was awarded an opportunity to take up a research project funded by the college. This project made me more knowledgeable that I have been turned out to be now. The ultimate experience I gained through working on this research project for about 6 months is immeasurable. Moreover, the intense guidance I sorted from my Professor, Dr. ---, who have been my greatest supporter throughout my academic journey, made me accomplish this project successfully. The topic of my research project was “The Use of Magneto-Aerotactic Bacteria in The Treatment of Recto Cecal Cancer Therapy”. The main aim of this project was to summarize and compare the results of Bacteria- Mediated tumour therapy from pre-clinical to clinical studies. The completion of this project made me feel more captivated toward the Molecular and Technological studies and convinced me that I should pursue a career in research. Being Strategic made me grab most of the opportunities that I was provided with. I wrote two articles. The first one with the topic “Vaccine Efficacy against Alpha and Delta Variants and The Future generation vaccines” have been published under the Compendium on “Insights into covid-19 Pandemic”- A JBAS special Edition. The next one has been accepted and yet to be published in the book “Research Insights of Life science students” by JPS Scientific publications with the topic of “Friend Retro Viruses reveals complex interactions between Intrinsic, Innate and Adaptive immunity” The various internships I had in different laboratories and the workshop I have worked with made me excel in various microbiological techniques with most of the specializations covered. Another most amazing experience I gained was by presenting a paper entitled “Genome -edited versus Genetically modified Tomatoes” at an international conference on advances in Biotechnology. The abstract was also published in ISBN and released as a souvenir. The essence of university education lies in the success of a long and rewarding relationship between the students and this department. The intellect teaching faculty, immaculate infrastructure, magnificent research facilities, and a balanced academic schedule, which are very much conductive to the fields of my interest, draw me to choose your university as the accurate place to pursue my graduate studies. My background in Microbiology with various majors will be an excellent addition to this program because I can show the intersection of these two fields. From the search that I have done regarding the countries, I found UK being the best with their science-oriented research programs. Having most renowned and reputed universities with exemplary world class educational amenities and experienced Faculty, I am highly inspired to pursue my masters in UK. Further I was deeply fascinated by the work-life balance which motivated me to choose UK. My short-term goal would be to accomplish my master’s degree with extraordinary scores and also acquiring eminent analytical and practical skills to enhance myself as an exceptional individual. Furthermore, I have always dreamt of being a research scientist since when I started my journey in Microbiology field. So, I wish to do my PHD soon after my graduation. With my long-term goal in mind, my immediate objective is to work towards a masters in Molecular Biology. I believe that I have the capacity to make constant and accept the challenges that a career in research involves. I am confident that I have the essential skills to make a meaningful career to my chosen field at your esteemed University.
