  • The Vancouver Community College was formed after the Vancouver School Board's Night School Program, Vancouver Vocational Institute, King Edward Senior Matriculation and Continuing Education Center and Vancouver School of Art merged together in 1965. There are three campus locations of Vancouver Community College. 
  • The Vancouver Community College Broadway is located at 1,155 East Broadway. This campus opened its doors in January 2009. The building of Vancouver Community College Broadway campus is seven-storied and covers a total area of 133,000 square feet. It is home to the Training programs of Health Sciences of VCC. Vancouver Community College offers both full-time and part-time programs. 
  • Some of these include Music and Dance, University Transfer, Academic Upgrading, Design, Hospitality, Baking and Culinary Arts, Hair, Esthetics and Makeup, Instructor Training, Technology, Apprenticeship Training, and others. VCC has a yearly budget of $105 million and is a major college offering postsecondary educational courses in the B.C. Through the University Transfer program of VCC, students can earn first-year university credits via flexible programs and transfer them to schools all over Canada.

The tuition expenses at this institute vary across programs and its value ranges between CAD 35,000 to CAD 35,500. It also extends financial aid in the form of bursaries, grants, awards, scholarships and Student Loans to students requiring financial assistance. The various scholarships offered are Pyrrha Scholarship worth CAD 3,500, BMW Group Canada Body and Paint Pre-Apprentice Scholarship of CAD 15,000 among others.

Webometrics - National

The following are the requirements for applying to various programmes at Vancouver Community College available to overseas students:

 

  • Academic Requirement– Applicants must have finished 12th grade in a relevant subject with good grades from a recognized educational board.
  • Age Requirement– To be admitted to VCC, an overseas student must be at least 17 years old when the programme begins.

To investigate potential career paths, students can enroll in courses such as Assessment and Career Options, Career Decision and Action Plans, Job Search Techniques ACED, Effective Communication, and Career Access-Academic Upgrading at VCC. VCC also offers programmes for students with disabilities, such as Career Awareness and Deaf and Hard Hearing-Job Readiness.

Students at VCC can receive one-on-one assistance and speak with a counsellor or an advisor to find the best path for career exploration. BC Settlement and Integration Services assists international students (work permit holders) at VCC with job search, resume writing, and making employer connections.
