Lakehead University through Georgian College, launched 20 new degree-diploma programmes in 2016, which let the students experience the best of college and university. Lakehead University and Georgian College are the two largest institutions in Simcoe County, Ontario.
These transfer pathway degrees are offered at the locations of both institutes. The Barrie campus is Georgian’s University Partnership Centre. The Lakehead University through Georgian College launched undergraduate programmes in 2017.
The courses offered are Collaborative Bachelor of Electrical Engineering Degree and Electrical Engineering Technology Diploma, Honours Bachelor of Arts and Science in Environmental Sustainability with Environmental Technician Diploma, Honours Bachelor of Science Degree in Applied Life Sciences with Biotechnology-Health diploma and Honours Bachelor of Computer Science with Computer Programming diploma.
Lakehead University through Georgian College is able to serve almost 3000 students and train them in applied skills and critical reasoning, which would allow them to meet the needs of the growing economy. These two institutions provide combined facilities worth $540 million.
The students can access world-class laboratories, classrooms, and libraries. The campus also has various eating joints, a fitness center and provides on-campus housing facilities. International students entering Lakehead-Georgian are automatically considered for Undergraduate Entrance Scholarships, and based on their merit, the funds can range from CAD 6,000 to CAD 40,000. The students do not need to fill any applications to attain these scholarships, but they need a high-school degree or transfer certificate from an international college.
