Admission Process

 

International students must follow the below steps to seek admission at Athabasca University and upload the following supporting documents:

 

Programmes for Undergraduates

 

Step 1: Complete the Undergraduate General Application and check the box that says "Yes, I am applying to a specific programme."

Step 2: Go to the ApplyAlberta webpage.

Step 3: ApplyAlberta takes you back to the AU website. Fill out the remaining sections of the application.

Step 4: Pay the evaluation charge and the one-time general application fee (if applicable). If ApplyAlberta was unable to send your official transcripts to AU, make sure you have them forwarded to AU.

Step 5: Upon completing the application process, note your AU student ID number. Your ID number must also be displayed on the printed or email receipt you get.

Step 6: If ApplyAlberta was unable to provide your official transcripts to AU, make sure they are sent directly to AU. Also, make arrangements to send any other essential supporting documents to the Office of the Registrar that apply to your application.

 

 

Programmes for Graduate students

 

 

Step 1: Obtain permission to begin an application (if required).

Step 2: Fill out the Graduate Application Form and pay the application cost, which is non-refundable.

Step 3: Write down your student ID number at the end of the application procedure if you are a new AU student. If you choose one of those choices, your ID number will also show on your printed or emailed receipt.

Step 4: Fill out a program-specific application form and submit it.

Step 5: Arrange for official transcripts from previous post-secondary institutions to be supplied directly to you if necessary.
