A few of these include:

  • Internships and On-the-Job Training
  • Placement Testing

Off-Campus Accommodation:

All students require housing. Alexander College is currently unable to offer on-campus accommodation due to the schools' metropolitan settings. In light of this, campus campuses are adjacent to significant transit hubs to reduce students' commuting times.

Homestay, room rental, or apartment rental are the three accommodation options most frequently selected by students.

Homestay:

Canadian homestay arrangements are appropriate for students looking for a truly Canadian experience. Host families give homestay students security, care, and safety, which also help them feel a part of the family and learn about Canadian culture. In British Columbia, students under 19 must live with a host family and have a local legal guardian. If they so choose, students over 19 may also choose to reside with a host family. If necessary, homestay firms offer guardianship services to international students.

Apartment Rental

Single

From one neighbourhood to the next, renting an apartment in Vancouver may be expensive. Downtown, Yaletown, Cambie Village, and West Vancouver are some of Vancouver's priciest neighbourhoods. The monthly rent for a studio or one-bedroom apartment in certain places may exceed $2,000. Apartments may start at $1000 a month in less expensive parts of the city such as East Vancouver, Commercial Drive, Fraserview, and Marpole. With typical rent for a studio or one-bedroom starting at $800 a month, Burnaby offers slightly more affordable living than Vancouver. Rent will be less expensive the farther you are willing to move from Vancouver.

Shared

Each year, hundreds of international students attend university in Vancouver. Making friends and saving money can be accomplished by living in shared housing with other international students. On the student notice bulletin boards at any campus, Alexander College students may post advertisements for available shared accommodation. The available apartment listings can also be obtained in newspaper classifieds, although the most recent listings can be located online.
