International Centre for EAP at Cape Breton University Campus

Overview

The International Centre for EAP (ICEAP) is a language centre providing English for Academic Preparation to international students willing to enter university but lacking necessary English proficiency. It is present in three locations, including one at the Cape Breton University (CBU) campus in Sydney, Nova Scotia, Canada.
Individuals studying at the International Centre for EAP Cape Breton University Campus would experience university life on this CBU campus. ICEAP extends courses in 8-week sessions throughout the year.
It provides an intensive program that is supplemented by group and individual tutorials and Conversation Partner Program. This institute also offers 8 different instruction levels curated to meet individual student requirements. The class sizes at ICEAP are small, comprising around 15 to 16 students.
For EAP levels, it is up to a maximum of 20. Students of the International Centre for EAP also receive a cultural and academic orientation. ICEAP is the organizer of “LET’S TALK” (Learn English Towards Success Talk - the Only Affordable Private Talk Program in Canada. This program enables one to talk with native speakers daily constantly.
Apart from the daily normal ESL English training courses of 5 hours, “LET’S TALK” offers English learners a private talk and activity session with native speakers. This is of two hours duration per day for five days in a week and is accompanied by several Canadian style outdoor activities.
Students completing the EAP Program are successful on the ICEAP exit examination. Besides this, those meeting university admission requirements for their programs get accepted by ICEAP partners for university studies. This is subject to program enrolment maximum numbers.
