California State University Long Beach, also referred to as "The Beach," was founded in 1949. The university has received a Times Higher Education World University Ranking ranking of 1001+ for the last two years, in 2020 and 2021. Candidates should be aware that the Times Higher Education (THE) gives teaching, research, and citations equal weight in its ranking system—30% each.
