The University of Western Sydney or UWS began operations as a federated network university in the year 1989. The predecessors of this university date back to as far as 1891. In 2001, the university underwent restructuring and started operating as a single multi-campus university. Today, it has 6 campuses, which includes the Western Sydney College – Parramatta. This campus comprises “Building 1 – Peter Shergold Building” and “Building 2 – Engineering Innovation Hub”, with a college at 100 George St.
Building 1 of the Western Sydney College – Parramatta includes the acclaimed Sydney Graduate School of Management or SGSM, which offers a range of postgraduate studies. Its Engineering Innovation Hub located in Building 2 offers courses on Industrial Design, Architecture, and Masters of Engineering. Its college situated at 100 George St provides a number of Diploma programs and University Foundation Studies. Students can also apply for scholarships, which are available in 3 groups, namely ‘A’, ‘B’, and ‘C’, and funded by the university, donors, and the Commonwealth of Australia/an Australian State or Territory, respectively.
