The Royal Melbourne Institute of Technology or RMIT University, a public research institute, was established in 1887 in Melbourne, Australia. It has a student enrollment of 97,193 and a staff of around 11,189. With three academic colleges and 19 academic schools, it offers over 350 undergraduate, postgraduate and research degree programs in areas like Design, Fashion, Communication, Engineering etc. There are three RMIT University campuses in Melbourne: Melbourne City campus, Brunswick campus and Bundoora campus, and two regional sites. Students from abroad can study at RMIT University through the study abroad program, and its students can spend time at the Vietnam and Spain campuses or a partner institute.

Students can choose to join one of the 100 clubs and societies around music, theatre, volunteering, politics, sports etc., and participate in cultural activities and events. Some of the sports clubs to join include the Outdoors Club, Hockey Club and Ultimate Frisbee Club. The RMIT Sports Centre and Melbourne City Baths are the university's fitness centres featuring gyms, pools, cycle studios, training decks and courts/fields.
