Students must have completed at least 6 months of full-time study at a recognized higher education institution and earned a minimum cumulative GPA of 4.9 out of 7.0, or 65-70 percent average outcomes.
Students might be able to apply right after high school, but you'll need to produce your high school diploma (or equivalent). These requests will be considered on an individual basis.
Students must have earned a bachelor's degree or its equivalent from a recognized institution of higher learning. Additional entrance requirements, if any, can be found in our Study Abroad Guide.
Students applying for the Study Abroad Program as postgraduates can only study for one teaching term.
Students who do not speak English as their first language must generally verify their proficiency by passing a test such as Academic IELTS, TOEFL, or Pearson (PTE Academic). Other English language tests may be accepted as proof of proficiency in the English language.

If you meet the academic requirements but not the English language requirement, you may be eligible for a package offer to learn English before beginning your primary course of study at JCU.

I attended James Cook University, Cairns for my Bachelor degree in Arts. This is the best university I have ever been to and I would recommend it to anyone from anywhere. The campus is absolutely beautiful and everyone who attends shares a positive community spirit. There are opportunities galore and the research opportunities it provides are amazing...you'll get to travel around the world
I have been studying at James Cook University for three years and I have to say its been the best time of my life. The unifying atmosphere and positive reputation help every student feel like they belong, even if they come from different countries. The ranking is good, as well as the rankings for placements. They are also very good with their tuition fees.
An excellent research based university with excellent professors, campus is beautiful and they provide a great environment and support.
