  • James Cook University (JCU), the second oldest university in Queensland, Australia, has campuses in Cairns, Townsville, in the City-State of Singapore and Brisbane, and study centres in Mount Isa, Mackay, Thursday Island and Rockhampton. The public university was established in 1970 and is one of the top 30 young universities globally. 
  • 49 undergraduate and 68 postgraduate programs are offered under six colleges and 32 fields of study. Art, Business Management, Engineering, Law, Biomedical Sciences, and Dental Surgery are highly ranked courses. The university is also known for Astronomy, Medical and Wildlife Sciences. JCU's Marine biology ranks 1st globally and has even contributed to developing a viable vaccine for malaria. International students' admission process occurs twice yearly through the university's portal or via an agent. 
  • Around 72.9% of graduates find full-time employment with an average salary of 47,680 AUD, with Business Management and Engineering having the highest salary packages.
  • On-campus accommodation is available on the Townsville campus with five residential halls and the Cairns campus with one self-catered residential hall, John Grey Hall, and one off-campus, fully-catered student lodge. Well-furnished single, double, and triple occupancy rooms are provided, starting from 120 AUD per week. 
  • The average undergraduate tuition fee is 26,160 AUD, whereas that for postgraduate programs is 34,667 AUD. All students are eligible for scholarships at the time of admission based on their academic achievements. JCU International Excellence Scholarship, JCU International Merit Stipend, JCU College Pathway and Australia Award Scholarship are some of them.
