Summer Intake in Germany: Deadlines, Programs, and Top Universities

The Summer intake is a genuine option in specific situations, but it is not an equivalent fallback to Winter. Program availability is narrower, scholarships are fewer, and the visa timeline is tighter because the semester starts in April with very little margin after admission offers arrive in January or February.

The Summer 2026 intake closed 15 January 2026. The next Summer intake is April 2027, with applications opening around November 2026.
