When can I register for NMAT 2026, and when is the exam window?
→NMAT registration for this testing year runs from August 20 to October 10, 2026. The exam delivery window then runs from November 2 to December 20, 2026. Dates can change for a new testing year, so always review the latest dates before you book.
What Is the Best Strategy for the dMAT General Academic Module's Mixed Topics?
→Spend the first 1 to 2 minutes scanning all available topics before answering anything, advises one of our students who sat the dMAT. She then tackled passages matching her strengths first, math then chemistry then theory-based topics, and saved unfamiliar areas like options trading and DFA for last.
What Surprised a Real Test-Taker Most About the dMAT Exam?
→3 things surprised one of our students most on her real dMAT attempt: the General Academic Module's scope went far beyond published samples into finance and computer science, the module needs manual activation by the examiner, and consent-form announcements were made during the test itself.
How Many dMAT Questions Should You Skip to Manage Time Pressure?
→One of our students who sat the dMAT skipped 4 to 5 questions per Core subtest, out of 20, to preserve time for pattern recognition and review on the rest. She estimates 3 to 5 full-length mocks would make the time pressure manageable for most students.
Can You Bring Scratch Paper or a Bag Into the dMAT Exam Hall?
→No. One of our students who sat the dMAT confirms scratch paper and digital notepads are both prohibited, so all working has to be done mentally. Bags are left outside the hall with no locker provided, though a transparent water bottle is allowed inside.
Does the dMAT General Academic Module Start Automatically After the Break?
→No. One of our student's first-hand dMAT account confirms the General Academic Module does not begin automatically after the 30-minute mandatory break. The examiner must manually activate it, a requirement she says is not widely publicised before your test day.
What Topics Actually Appear in the dMAT General Academic Module?
→Far broader than expected: one real dMAT sitting covered 8 distinct subject areas, including complex numbers, physics forces, periodic table chemistry, call and put options, DFA theory in computer science, and economic theories including Karl Marx's inequality argument, per one of our student's account.
How Is the dMAT Core Module Structured and Timed?
→The Core Module runs as three back-to-back subtests, Figure Sequences, Mathematical Equations and Latin Squares, each 20 questions in 25 minutes, per one of our student's actual dMAT attempt. A 2-minute optional break sits between the first two, then a mandatory 30-minute break follows the third.
