Quick Answer verified

No, the dMAT exam for APS Germany can currently only be taken at an authorised test centre, not at home. Students will be informed if online testing starts. The exam fee is EUR 150 and the APS fee is separate, so check the official g.a.s.t. page.

Right now, you cannot take the dMAT at home. It is held only at authorised test centres in India, and you will be told in advance if online testing is ever allowed.

Who Needs It and How to Prepare

  • The dMAT is compulsory for Master's applicants only if your undergraduate degree is in Engineering, Commerce, Accounting, Finance, Economics or Business or Management and you apply for Summer Semester 2027 or later.
  • There is no universal passing score, and a lower score does not automatically reject your APS certificate.
  • Focus on analytical thinking, logical reasoning and basic quantitative problem solving.

My Advice

Pick the nearest centre early and plan your travel. Practise reasoning and timing instead of re-reading textbooks, and check the official g.a.s.t. website for the latest fee and dates.
