The IELTS Listening section evaluates your ability to comprehend spoken English across various contexts. This section spans approximately 30 minutes and comprises 4 recordings, each followed by a series of questions. These recordings encompass diverse accents and cover a range of everyday and academic scenarios.

In the request for special leave audio, you will listen to a conversation between an employee and their supervisor discussing the process and requirements for applying for special leave. The employee inquires about specific details such as eligibility criteria, the application procedure, necessary documentation, and the approval timeline. The supervisor provides information on the different types of leave available, the conditions under which they can be granted, and any potential impacts on the employee’s role and responsibilities.

You will encounter a variety of question types, including multiple-choice, matching, plan/map/diagram labelling, form/note/table/flow-chart/summary completion, and sentence completion. The main emphasis of the listening section is to assess your capacity to grasp both the essence and specific details of spoken content, as well as your ability to track the development of ideas.

Ans. In the IELTS Listening test, questions are designed in various formats to assess different listening skills. Each question type requires candidates to focus on understanding specific details or overall meaning conveyed in the recordings.

Q. How is the IELTS Listening test scored?
