One of the main reasons MSU's Master of Human Resources and Labor Relations(MHRLR) programme is regarded as one of the best in the country for HR and labour relations is their job placement and development.
A personal peer career coach and student mentorship are two of the HRLR features.
They provide tailored support and one-on-one assistance to ensure that each of their Master's students is prepared and confident when over 40 organizations come to meet, interview and recruit them for summer internships and full-time positions. Every student is assigned a personal peer career coach and a student mentor to ensure that their resume is flawless and that they are ready to shine in interviews.
MSU's curriculum typically places 95–100% of our students in summer internships averaging $32/hour and full-time jobs with current average earnings of $83,000 at or before graduation.
MSU helps students connect with its enormous alumni network through the SHRLR lifetime networked community so that they can get the most out of their internships and early careers. Some of the On-Campus residencies include:
The North Neighborhood halls are the oldest residence halls on campus, with conventional academic architecture. North encompasses the historic Red Cedar and West Circle neighbourhoods, which span immediately north of the Red Cedar River and along Michigan and Grand River avenues on what was once MSU's main campus.
On the west side of campus, just north of the Red Cedar River, sits the Brody Neighbourhood. Brody is made up of six residence halls surrounding Brody Hall, which houses many of the neighbourhood's common services, including the Brody Square dining hall. All residence halls in Brody Neighbourhood include common toilets, and each wing is co-ed. The halls also provide some of the largest student rooms on campus, as well as parking just outside the doors. The Breslin Student Events Center and the Spartan athletic facilities are both close to Brody. Armstrong, Bailey, Bryan, Butterfield, and Rather hall- all have fitness centres.
