Scholarship amount details

Normally, a full Chevening Scholarship includes:

Payment of tuition fees

Economy travel to and from your country of residence on a route that has been approved exclusively for you

A stipend upon arrival

The cost of a single entrance clearance (visa) application.

Allowance for departure

A contribution of up to £75 for tuberculosis testing, if necessary

A supplement to your vacation budget

A monthly personal living allowance (stipend) to pay living expenses and housing. The amount of your monthly stipend will be determined by whether you are studying in or outside of London. These tariffs are reviewed every year. Payments for the following full month's stipend will be made to you on or around the 21st of the month. The stipend for that month will be altered if you arrive in the UK or leave the UK part way through the month.

Eligibility

To be eligible for Chevening, you must be a citizen of a Chevening-qualified nation.

Return to your home country for a period of at least two years once your award has finished;

Have an undergraduate degree that will allow you to enroll in a postgraduate programme at a UK university (usually an upper second class 2:1 honours degree in the UK);

Have at least two years of work experience (for fellowship programmes, this can be up to five years; see your country page for more information);

Apply to three distinct suitable UK university courses and receive an unconditional offer from one of them by July following the filing of your application;

Following the submission of your application, you must meet the Chevening English language requirement by July.
