The two plans illustrate who Ryehath, a village evolved over a period of 25 years. The major developments made focused on modernization of the village while keeping its original essence or structure. In the year 1990, the majority of the area was utilized as either farmlands or forest. The village had two important roads, one being the main road which connected the primary school and garden to different places while the other road was Abbey road. The two roads merged into one single road which went out to the bank of river. There was a forest on the opposite side of the river. After the span of almost three decades, various new amenities were build including a cafe, petrol pump which actually replaced the farmland on the upper side of the river. Whereas the farmland on the lower side was converted to a residential area along with a parking of it's own, there was also a supermarket and postoffice besides it. Eventhough the supermarket replaced the traditional shops but the windmills were still intact.A bridge was build on the river in order to start a human settlement in the forest with a Cliffroad between it.

THE TWO PICTURES DEPICT THE DEVELOPMENT OF RYEHATH VILLAGE FROM A TIME PERIOD OF 1990 TO 2015. WE CAN SEE MAJOR CHANGES THAT TOOK PLACE IN THE OVERALL BETTERMENT OF THE VILLAGE. IF WE TAKE A LOOK AT THE MAP FROM THE YEAR 1990 WE CAN SEE THAT IT WAS AN ARCHAIC SETTING VILLAGE WITH VERY BASIC AMENITIES LIKE A PRIMARY SCHOOL, GARDEN, POLICE STATION, ETC. IN THE MEANWHILE IF WE COMPARE IT WITH THE MAP FOR THE YEAR 2015 WE CAN SEE A GROWTH OR IMPROVEMENT IN THE AMENITIES LIKE THE COLLEGE, POST OFFICE, ETC. A MAJOR DEVELOPMENT IN THE ROAD INFRASTRUCTURE CAN BE SEEN WITH THE DEPICTION OF CLIFFROAD IN THE 2015 MAP ALONG WITH THE BRIDGE TO CROSS THE RIVER. THE OLD MAP CONSISTED OF A BIG CHUNK OF LAND SOLELY DEDICATED TO A FOREST AND FARMLAND BUT IN 2015 THERE IS NO FOREST IN THE MAP EVEN FARMLAND HAS DISAPPEARED, FROM THIS WE CAN INFER THAT DEFORESTATION MIGHT HAVE TAKEN PLACE ON THE FOREST LAND AS WELL AS THE FARMLAND, BUILDINGS, HOUSES AND OTHER AMENITIES GOT CONSTRUCTED ON THEIR PLACE. AS THERE WAS INCREASE IN THE NUMBER OF HOUSES, EVEN THE NUMBER OF VEHICLES INCREASED AND AS A RESULT WE SEE A SEPARATE AREA FOR PARKING IN THE 2015 MAP WHICH DIDN'T EXISTED EARLIER. SUPPORTING THE EARLIER POINT, AS THE NUMBER OF VEHICLES INCREASED IN THE VILLAGE THERE WILL DEFINITELY BE A REQUIREMENT FOR FUEL, HENCE WE SEE A PETROL PUMP. EARLIER WE DIDN'T HAVE A SUPERMARKET IN THE VILLAGE, SO FOR SMALL HOUSEHOLD NEEDS EVERYTIME RESIDENTS WOULD LIKELY HAVE TO GO TO MARKETS OUTSIDE THE VILLAGE THAT'S THE REASON WE HAVE A SPECIALIZED SUPERMARKET HERE ITSELF. ALONG WITH THAT WE CAN ALSO NOTICE A CAFE IN THE VILLAGE WHICH IS ANOTHER SIGN OF DEVELOPMENT. THE VILLAGE DIDN'T HAVE IT'S OWN POST OFFICE EARLIER, BUT WE CAN SEE IT IN THE 2015 MAP AS COLLEGES HAVE BEEN BUILT IN THE VILLAGE THERE WOULD HAVE BEEN AN INCREASE IN THE LITERACY RATE AND THAT'S WHY THE IMPORTANCE FOR HAVING A POST OFFICE IN THE VILLAGE MIGHT HAVE BEEN FELT. IN A NUTSHELL WE CAN SAY THAT THE FROM 1990 TO 2015 THERE WAS AN OVERALL DEVELOPMENT OF RYEHATH VILLAGE FROM INFRASTRUCTURE TO EDUCATION BUT IT WASN'T ENVIRONMENT FRIENDLY AS THE ENTIRE FOREST AND FARMLAND HAS BEEN TAKEN OVER BY HOUSES AND BUILDINGS.

By going through the maps from 1990 to 2015, we can clearly see a shift or development of Ryehath village, comparing the map i have found some key difference that that clealy shows a story about the development. In 1990, Ryehath village shows a traditional layout about the forest that is on the otherside of the river. People back then must be using water from the river that is beside their framland to grow crops that is essential for their survival. There is a road that diverges in two named a main road and abbey road, on the main road there is a garden and primary school, and on the abbey road there is a shop followed by windmill that might be used to power the village. Before the road diverging there is a police station behind which a framland and opposite to police station another framland. Now when looking to the map of 2015 there is a drastic change, we can see a bridge as a sign of development which opened new road called Cliff Road and new housing propety at the cost of deforestation. Both the framnlands were converted to cafe, petrol pump, housing and parking. shop was upgraded to super market, addition of post office and college for better future of the coming generations, primary school, garden, police station and windmill were in the same location as therywere in since 1990.

The most striking one amongst the two is the construction of a bridge across the river along with the cliff road perpendicular to it, which was once coverd by an ample growth of a forest in 1990. Ever since, the deforestation has lead to the uprise of residential communities which are thus connected by the cliff road to the main village.
