It is possible to settle abroad by working after your studies, but obtaining permanent residency (PR) is often challenging and depends on the country.

In the USA, the typical path is:
- F-1 visa: Study as an international student.
- OPT (Optional Practical Training): Work in your field for up to 12 months after graduation; STEM graduates may get a 24-month extension.
- H-1B visa: Secure employer sponsorship for a work visa, valid up to 6 years.
- Green card (PR): Your employer can sponsor you for PR, but this process is lengthy and competitive.

There is no automatic PR after studies. Immigration policies are subject to change, and employer support is crucial. If you need guidance on your specific case, please connect with your LeapScholar counsellor.
