Is my daughter planning to settle down abroad with permanent residency or just study in Singapore/USA for a Master's?

It depends on your daughter’s long-term goals. If she wants to settle abroad with permanent residency (PR), both Singapore and the USA offer pathways for international students to transition from study to PR, but the processes and timelines are different.

- Singapore: After a Master's, she would need to secure a job and work for 2 - 3 years before applying for PR through the Professionals/Technical Personnel and Skilled Workers (PTS) scheme.
- USA: After graduation, she can work on a post-study work visa (such as H-1B) and may later be sponsored by an employer for a green card. This process can take several years and is competitive.

If your daughter is considering PR, she should plan her studies and career steps accordingly.
