Deposits are not strictly compulsory before visa approval, but you must prove you have enough funds to cover tuition and living expenses for both UK and Canada student visas.

For Canada, you need to show proof of funds covering your first-year tuition, living expenses (around CAD 22,895/year), and return transportation (about CAD 2,000). You don’t have to pay all this upfront, but you must demonstrate access to this amount through bank statements, a Guaranteed Investment Certificate (GIC), or similar proof.

For the UK, you must show funds for your course fees plus living expenses held in your bank account for at least 28 consecutive days before applying. Living costs are about £1,529/month if studying in London or £1,171/month outside London, for up to 9 months.

You don’t have to deposit the full amount before visa processing, but you must prove these funds are available and accessible.
