Post COVID, working from home is the preferred mode of operation for many youngsters and even experienced employees. While working from home or office have their own pros and cons, a hybrid approach is better. Sitting in traffic during office rush hour, was beleived to be part of grind. Though everyone use to hate it, it was believed to be a necessary evil everyone has to go through. But post COVID, both employers and employees realised that work from home is a possibility. Post COVID, people realised that remote work could benefit both employees and employers. Employees can cater to daily menial tasks during the day balancing between office and home commitments while saving admistration cost for employers. For e.g. companies can now expect only 60% of office staff to be in office simultaneously and cut down on resources accordingly. This not only helps in better employee satisfaction but also contributes towards environment helping organisations meet their energy saving goals. On the flip side, going to work is the way of collaborating with other people and teams Sitting at home can get lonely at times as online meeings cannot replace experience of face-to-face interactions. Also, collaboration and whiteboarding take a hit as it becomes difficult to share data and discuss on a topic online. In addition, a two minute converstation physicallly would effectively become a 45 minute discussion. This drains out people's energy and time during the day. For e.g, checking availability of couple of member on team could be a whole day task if pople are working from home as they have there calender packed with meetings. In office, you can simply walk up to their seat and get the time right away. . A hybrid work culture, where there is a balance between working from office and working from home will help address the problem holistically.

In these connected times, more and more companies and also salaried individuals are leaning towards work from home concept. A novel and increasing phenomenon, especially after outbreak of Corona virus and advent of technology. In this essay, I will deliberate on both the positives and negatives of this emerging trend from perspective of an employee. There are many positives of remote working from perpective of salaried individuals or employees. The first and foremost advantage is that individual saves a lot of time by not commuting to work place. Time saved is addition in our productive time. During lockdown when I was working remotely, I daily saved 2 hours of my time by working froom home. Furthermore, everyone prefers home cooked food, and when working from home you have the luxury of enjoying that. Additionally, an individual can attend to household chores when working from home. This is especially a big plus in case of nuclear families. In a survey, conducted on 1000 salaried individuals by a leading newspaper concluded that 75% of individuals loved the fact that they do not need to travel when working from home. Good things also come with some drawbacks. Biggest negative of working remotely is that individuals' social life is impacted greatly which can lead to social and psycological issues. Secondly, noise and other distubances can be a big issue during critical meetings. Additionally, it makes a person lazy and feel less motivated. I faced the same issues when I was working remotely for 2 years during 2020 lockdown. In an article published by leading magazine, it was concluded that 60% of salaried people faced health and mental issues when working remotely. To concluded, working remotely have both positives and negatives associated with it. It is upto the circumstances of each individual, what suits you may not suit to everyone.

After the pandemic, the remote working culture has experienced a huge boom. The employers are preferring this work arrangement because it assists them save massive amount of funds on office rentals and utility bills. Moreover, it also helps employees have a better work-life balance. However, as every coin has two sides, the work-from-home culture has its own benefits and ramfication. Looking at the gains, the most convincing reason is that it saves a lot of time of the employees spent on travelling to work every day. The idea is buoyed in the fact that most of the offices are situated in cities, where traffic is a major issue. As a result, it consumes a significant amount of time of the workers, which could have been utilized for a more important task. Additionally, we cannot ignore the reality that people are more productive whenever they are in their comfort zone. Based on a survey, it is concluded that a team of people working on a project were more efficient at their job compared to a team working in an office space. Hence, working online is definitely a good alternative for employees. Nevertheless, I cannot disagree that remote working has its own disadvantages. To begin with, communication can be one of the major problems faced during these kinds of work settings. For instance, in case of urgency, it becomes strenuous to get a reply from your team members, as they are not readily available to clear your doubts. Even more, it also has negative impacts on the emotional quo of the staff. This can be supported by the fact that most of the workers do not interact a lot with their colleagues, which leads to having a shy personality. Therefore, the above-mentioned factors are enough to prove my standpoint. To encapsulate, in the foreseeable future, due to it's commendable advantages, work-from-home settings are expected to expand. Yet, keeping the drawbacks in mind, it is also essential to reduce the negative impacts of virtual working.

In this modernized world, there is an increase in the number of people preffering to work from home, as it convenient and flexible. However some people still prefer going to the office. In this essay, I will discuss in detail the merits and demerits of the following topic and present my opinion. On one hand, people find it convenient to work from home as it saves travelling time to the office, and also it offers flexibility in working hours. For example, in metropolitan cities like Banglore and Chennai, it takes an hour to travel 10 kms, which can be time consuming and also results in unnecessary traffic on the road. Additionally, work from home helps the employers as they can save up the office rent and resources. Thus, these examples demonstrates the advantages of remote working. On the other hand, despite the upsides of this tragectory the drawbacks cannot be undermined. Distant working can be cost effective and flexible, but it also lead to communication gap between the collegues as there are no interaction among the teammates. For instance, every conversation must be in form of digital meeting , which can cause ambiguity at work. Moreover, people working from rural areas can face internet issues which reduces the productivity of the work. Thus, in conclusion, I believe that it is favorable and more convenient to work from home than following the traditional practise of coming to office on day to day basis, as it saves the time and energy of the employee leading to greater productivity. which can also cause unnecessary traffic. For instance, in Bangalore to travel 10 kms it takes minimum of 1 hour time, due to high traffic. Also it is economical to the company as it should provide office cabs to employees

With rapid growth in technology, the workplace dynamics have changed over the past few years. Employees now a days favour working from their homes and employers also would rather want the employess to do so. I will dicuss some merits and demerits of employess working from home. First of all, the biggest perk of working online is not having to travel to office, especially avoiding the morning rush hours, which is a great way to save on fuel as well. With the current out of control traffic, working from home comes as a blessing. This not only helps to avoid travel time but also conserve the amount spent on fuel. Moreover, this also saves the employees the hassle of wearing the formal office attire. They can work in the comfort of their own homes in their comfortable pajamas. However, remote working comes with its downside as well. Firstly, the employees are using their own utilities, for instance, internet. Domestic internet servers are not that fast, as compared to commercial servers used in the offices, are unable to handle heavy office apps and files. Therefore, impacting the work efficiency of the employee. Additionally, it becomes difficult to coordinate between teams working on the same project and follow-up of progress becomes a headache for the employer. As most employees might not follow routine office hours making it harder to collaborate between team members. Thus, making it harder to meet the deadlines. In conclusion, I believe that there is no correct way to go about in terms of office workers. Given the fuel hike and traffic congestion, remote working along with scheduled office meetings can benefit both employer and the employees.

Nowadays, the trend of remote working is gaining popularity among employees as well as employers. While this trend offers significant advantages for the employees, such as work life balance and reduction in commute expenses, it also presents challanges like drop in efficiency due to unavailability of suitable environment and lack of socialization. This essay will discuss both the merits and demerits of this trend. On the one hand, the opportunity of remote working gives employees a sense of freedom and by keeping themselves near to the family originate a feeling of healthy work life balance. Furthermore, working remotely gives an advantage to avoid travel, which helps in reducing a big chunk of travel expense. These merits seed a sense of job satisfaction results in retantion of employees for a longer duration. For example, a recent survey demonstrates the level of job satisfaction between remote working employees and the office employees, which depicts a surge in job satisfaction level among remote working employees as compared to the office employees. On the other hand, despite the advantages, remote work comes with significant challenges. The lack of working environment and the presence of family members reduces individual's focus and work efficiency and may impact the overall performace level. Secondly, remote work comes with a social distance with the team members, which impacts the team's bond and reduces teamwork abilities at a quantifiable scale. To conclude, while healthy work life balance and lighter expenses are the advantages of remote working, it also poses chllanges such as lack of work environment and socializing opportunities. To balance, I believe hybrid work module may give an oppotunity to weigh the merits and demerits and to help individuals to make a decision.

During the pandemic era, many organisations were struggling to call employees to office due to covid restrictions. That introduced the concept of remote or hybrid working for employees. Since then it has been widely preferred by most employees and their employers. This concept opened wide opportunities for organisations to meet their targets without compromising the safety of employees. It also introduced flexible working hours for employees. For example, I remember that both my parents were infected because of Covid, but remote working helped me alot to manage and take care of them while keeping a track on my job responsibilities. It provided flexible working hours which promoted better work-life balance and enhanced productivity of employees. In contrast to the perks associated with this concept, there are some cons attached too. As there were no defined working hours, employees were supposed to be on call 24x7 which meant early or late night teams call. This interrupted with one's sleep cycle and also increased stress levels. I can recall an incident where I was having a very important meeting but due to sudden electricity outage, my internet stopped working and my call was disrupted. This brings me to another disadvantage associated with it and that is ensuring no network hinderance during working hours, which was quite difficult to achieve. In my opinion, remote working is more preferable as it helps in managing your personal and professional goals simultaneously. It opens better opportunities for working mothers with infants who do not have to compromise with their work and can take of their child at the same time by staying at homes. The concept of remote working has some better advantages which outweighs its disdvantages.

It has been observed that over the last decade, Working From Home has become a desirable career option to most of the emplyees. This trend has even become stronger when COVID - 19 hit the globe and the world almost came to a standstill. It was then that the employers came up with the best possible solution to keep the companies running by introducing the remote working pattern world wide. In this essay I am going to discuss both the advantages and disadvantages of remote working. Remote working means either working from home or from a Personal Office space according to the employee's convinience. The most important advantage of flexible working is that reducing commuting time and expenses which leads to lower infra structure costs. Additionally, it makes the employee available to work almost all the time and it helps them to maintain work-life balance as well. Moreover, it also creates less distraction in the employee as he is working from his own comfort zone. For instance, the big organizations like TCS, Microsoft, ADOBE have this policy and have managed to reap profits year on year. Their professionalism and turn over both are worth mentioning. In contrast, flex working has some disadvantages also. Firstly, it has been observed that employees tend to feel isolated, lack discipline by not logging in the attendance app or meetings on time. Here, leadership becomes a challenge at times as the team lead is not taken seriously because of a lack of physical presence. This was mostly the reason why companies like Price Waterhouse Cooper, Dell Technologies, Accenture withdrew their online working and initially made 3 days hybrid structure working followed by a full-fledged office environment. Secondly, employees especially women get burdened with domestic responsibilties to such an extent that they cannot concentrate on their job. In conclusion, it must be said that takent is not restricted to geographical boundaries. Hence, if remote working is made more managable with better apps and if both team leaders and members are consistent enough it can work wonders. Having said that, working from home is not the ideal solution to employment issues and thus, going to work should be the primary motive of all employees.
