Japan and South Korea both offer post-study work options, but the pathways and durations differ.

Japan:
- No direct post-study work visa. Graduates can apply for a job-seeking visa (Designated Activities Visa) for up to 1 year (initial 6 months, extendable once) to search for work related to their field.
- Once employed, you can switch to a work visa (such as Engineer/Specialist in Humanities/International Services), typically valid for 1 - 3 years and renewable.

South Korea:
- Graduates can apply for a D-10 job-seeking visa: up to 1 year (bachelor’s), 1.5 years (master’s), or 2 years (PhD), with possible extensions while job hunting.
- After securing a job, you can transition to an E-7 work visa (specialized skills), valid for 1 - 3 years and renewable.

Visa rules and durations are subject to change.
