The permanent residency (PR) process is different in each country.

- Canada: PR is available through multiple pathways such as Express Entry, Provincial Nominee Programs, and family sponsorships. Most applicants are assessed on a points-based system, and processing typically takes about 6 months after receiving an invitation.
- France: PR is usually granted after 5 years of continuous residence with a long-term permit. Applicants must show stable income, integration, and French language skills.
- Sweden: PR is possible after 4 years on qualifying permits (like work or EU Blue Card) within the last 7 years. Student permits generally do not count toward this period.

Requirements, timelines, and eligibility vary by country and are subject to change. If you need help understanding your best option, please reach out to your LeapScholar counsellor.
