Can I get a refund if I deregister from the dMAT exam after paying?

Your refund depends entirely on when you cancel. There is a cooling-off window that gives you a full refund, a middle period with a partial refund, and a point after which no refund is possible at all.

Within 14 days of registering, you can cancel for any reason, no explanation needed, and receive a full refund, a standard cooling-off period under g.a.s.t.'s contract terms. After 14 days but before the registration deadline (15 September 2026 for the first sitting), you can still deregister through the participant portal, but the refund comes back minus an administrative fee of up to 15% (roughly €22.50, about Rs.2,480, on a €150 payment). After the registration deadline, deregistration closes entirely, and there is no refund available regardless of the reason. A no-show, a discontinued exam, or exclusion for a rules violation all result in no refund and no certificate. The APS Rs.18,000 fee, by contrast, is non-refundable under any circumstance at any stage.

My Advice

Read g.a.s.t.'s cancellation terms before you register, not after your plans change. Students who assume the dMAT fee is a rigid, non-negotiable university application fee sometimes unnecessarily lose an entire intake cycle by failing to deregister within their entitled window.
