Will my husband's full-time job on a dependent visa affect my cost of living or visa process?
Your husband's full-time job on a dependent visa can help reduce your cost of living, as his income may support your household expenses while you study.
However, for your Canadian study permit, you must independently show proof of funds to cover your tuition, living expenses, and transportation - regardless of your husband's employment. His job does not reduce the financial requirements for your visa application.
As of September 1, 2025 (subject to change), you need to show:
- CAD 22,895/year for your living expenses
- CAD 4,000/year for a spouse
- CAD 3,000/year per child (if applicable)
Cash income, business income or no ITR?
See whether your funds and documents will pass the Canadian visa check.
