Will I get a work permit after completing a PG certificate or a master's degree in Canada?
Yes, after completing a PG certificate or a master's degree in Canada, you may be eligible for a Post-Graduation Work Permit (PGWP), which allows you to work in Canada.
- For both master's and PG certificate programs, your course must be at least 8 months long and you must maintain full-time student status.
- The PGWP is typically valid for the length of your study program (up to 3 years for programs of 2 years or more).
- You must apply within 180 days of receiving confirmation that you completed your program.
- From November 1, 2024, proof of language proficiency will be required for PGWP applications.
